The Jardin de Balata invites you on a fascinating journey through nature and tradition

In 1982, Jean-Philippe Thoze, horticulturist, landscape gardener and passionate artist, returned to his childhood home in the Creole style house of his grandparents.

Built in the purest Martinique tradition, this house is the soul of the garden. Positioned in the heart of the garden and open onto it, this traditional house transports its visitors. Walking through its period tiles, admiring its roof of Trois ĂŽlets pottery tiles, and taking the time to admire the garden from this large terrace, is also discovering Balata.

From this house, this garden, this island, was born a passion for botany that would take Mr. Thoze to the four corners of the world and create this incredible botanical collection.

We suggest a tour of at least 1h30 / 2h00.
Our entire team invites you to discover this magnificent traditional house, entirely decorated with period furniture and objects.
